Today marks the anniversary of DACA, a program that has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of young immigrants who have grown up in the United States.

I have seen how important opportunities to work, pursue education, and support family can be for many Dreamers and their communities.

Today, I recognize the resilience, determination, and contributions of Dreamers, whose stories continue to be an important part of our nation's immigration conversation. 💙

🚨 Breaking News: Federal Judge Strikes Down $100,000 H-1B Visa Fee

A federal judge has struck down the $100,000 fee that the Trump administration imposed on certain new H-1B visa petitions.

⚖️ I understand how important the H-1B program is for employers, universities, healthcare systems, and highly skilled professionals seeking opportunities in the United States.

The court found that the government exceeded its authority by implementing the fee without the necessary authorization from Congress. For many organizations that rely on international talent, this ruling could help reduce barriers to hiring qualified workers in critical fields.

💡 While the administration has indicated it may appeal the decision, this is an important development for employers and professionals who continue to monitor changes affecting employment-based immigration.

When someone is detained by ICE, there may be legal tools available to challenge that detention under certain circumstances.

One of those tools is a habeas corpus petition. While the law allows individuals to file this type of petition without an attorney, that does not mean the process is simple.

💡 Knowing that this option exists is important, but so is understanding the challenges that may come with pursuing it without legal representation.
