Looking forward to serving as a panelist on the Trademarks and NFTs roundtable conducted by United States Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Copyright Office on January 24.

Both agencies are administering a joint study of NFTs and IP. Would love to hear from you if there are topics you would like discussed.

Monday I had the pleasure of attending and speaking at Web3 Equity’s Dine and Learn. There was an amazing group of diverse and engaged women from different walks of life - real estate, hospitality, art, NFT community leaders, software, non-profit, government, etc.

We broke out into different topic sessions, and I led the group discussions on intellectual property (IP) in web3. I was blown away by the genuine interest in IP. I could see the thought wheels churning as we tried to tease out subjects like, what does NFT “ownership” mean? How are licensing programs changing through blockchain technology?

Traditional IP monetization channels are without a doubt being disrupted. While time will reveal more of the opportunities that await, these ladies are not waiting, they are building. 🚀

The company has opposed singer-songwriters, school districts and food blogs for trying to trademark names or logos featuring an apple — or a pear or pineapple.
