FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
83-Year-Old Grandmother and Immigrant Survivor Seeks Justice After Being Struck by Crimson Pipeline Truck in Crosswalk
Los Angeles, CA — [August 27, 2025] — The Law Offices of Brian J. Breiter, LLP announced today that their client, Emmina Morozova, is preparing for trial this September in her case against Crimson Pipeline, LLC, Crimson Midstream, LLC, and their driver Jacob Allen.
On July 26, 2023, Ms. Morozova — an 83-year-old grandmother, half Russian and half Ukrainian, in excellent health — was lawfully crossing in a marked crosswalk in La Mirada, California, when she was struck by a Crimson Pipeline truck driven by Jacob Allen . Multiple eyewitnesses confirmed that Ms. Morozova had the right of way, yet the company and its driver continue to deny responsibility.
The crash shattered the life of a woman who had already survived so much. Having fled war-torn Eastern Europe, Ms. Morozova endured decades of hardship before finally being reunited with her family in California. But her American dream of peace and security was violently upended in an instant by this preventable collision.
Ms. Morozova suffered catastrophic, life-threatening injuries, including:
• A ruptured spleen requiring emergency removal
• A crushed left shoulder
• Both arms broken (left proximal humerus, right distal radius and ulna)
• Several broken ribs with a collapsed lung (hemo-pneumothorax)
• Multiple spinal fractures (thoracic and sacral)
• Loss of sight and hearing
While hospitalized, she developed pneumonia and nearly died, spending months in intensive care, acute hospitals, and a rehabilitation facility fighting to regain her health . Despite her resilience, she continues to live with permanent disabilities and depends on others for her daily needs.
To raise awareness, the firm has released a Trial Trailer — a short film previewing what the jury is expected to see at the upcoming trial. The film highlights Ms. Morozova’s powerful immigrant story, her catastrophic injuries, and the dangers posed when corporations and drivers ignore basic safety rules: https://youtu.be/8WO_23MfS78
“This case is about corporate accountability and public safety,” said attorney Brian Breiter, who represents Ms. Morozova. “Our client is a survivor who escaped war only to have her life shattered on the streets of Los Angeles by a company truck that failed to yield. Eyewitnesses confirm what happened, yet Crimson still denies responsibility. That is unacceptable.”
The trial is scheduled to begin in September 2025 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Norwalk Courthouse.
ABOTA trial lawyers Brian Breiter and Jeffrey Twomey will present the case to a Norwalk jury.
