Perhaps more important than execute estate planning documents is knowing what is (and what isn't) possible per Florida law. If you are estranged from your spouse, get the divorce because you cannot disinherit a spouse without the spouse's affirmative consent. Elective share, dower, and dower all are terms that refer to the surviving spouse's interest in the deceased spouse's estate (and beyond).
