We are pleased to share that Daniel Nies has joined Orangewood Law Group.

Dan has been practicing law in Arizona since 2013. Before joining the firm, Dan worked for the Civil Rights Division of the Arizona Attorney General’s office. His civil rights experience centered around the claims of discrimination in employment, fair housing, and public accommodations. While working for the Attorney General’s Office, Dan frequently served as a mediator for the Attorney General’s mediation program. Dan mediated over seventy-five complaints and helped teach mediation classes. In addition to mediations, Dan negotiated over twenty settlements. In 2021, he was recognized for his leadership and professionalism with the Attorney General's office Leadership in Action award. The perspective Dan gained while working for the Attorney General’s office helps him to analyze cases objectively and give counsel that is in a client’s best interest. Prior to his time at the Attorney General's office, Dan worked at a wireless zoning acquisition company. During his time there he gained valuable experience negotiating leases, working with city planning departments, and presenting at city council meetings.

Dan graduated from the University of Nebraska Law School with distinction in 2013. Nebraska Cornhuskers football continues to be an integral part of Dan’s fall Saturdays. Prior to attending law school, Dan graduated summa cm laude from the University of Jamestown in Jamestown North Dakota with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science.

Dan grew up on a farm in rural North Dakota, giving him a particular appreciation for Arizona’s balmy January climate. Away from the office Dan loves spending time with his family, including his wife Hannah and two young children as well as extended family. Dan also enjoys reading, basketball, and weightlifting and is a devoted student of the art of wood pellet barbecue.
