After an injury, insurance companies often contact the injured person quickly after an accident. While adjusters may appear helpful, their role is to protect the insurer’s financial interests. Accepting an early settlement can mean giving up the ability to recover compensation for future medical expenses, ongoing treatment, or long-term limitations. Understanding the full impact of an injury is essential before making decisions.

Winter weather can make lakes, ponds, and rivers look calm—but ice conditions can change quickly.

If you’re walking near or across frozen water, remember that ice is rarely uniform. Warmer temperatures, moving water, and snow cover can weaken it without warning.

Stick to designated paths, keep your distance from open water, and when in doubt, stay off the ice altogether. A few extra precautions can make all the difference in staying safe this winter.

Have you ever wondered if you have a medical malpractice case? Medical malpractice occurs when a healthcare provider fails to meet the accepted standard of care and a patient is harmed as a result. This can include surgical errors, misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, or medication mistakes. These cases are complex and often require detailed review of medical records and expert opinions. Because deadlines apply, concerns about medical care should be addressed promptly.

If something didn’t feel right about your medical care, getting clarity sooner rather than later matters. Call Theodoros & Rooth at (219)769-6393 to speak to an attorney about your potential case.

Slip and fall injuries often happen because a property was not properly maintained. Wet floors, icy walkways, uneven pavement, or poor lighting can all create dangerous conditions. Property owners are expected to address known hazards or provide reasonable warnings. When they fail to do so, they may be held responsible for resulting injuries. Prompt medical care and documenting the scene can be critical in these cases.

If a fall happened on someone else’s property, it may be worth understanding your options. Call Theodoros & Rooth for a free consultation with an attorney.

After a car accident, many people worry that being partially at fault means they have no case. In reality, fault is often shared and not always clear at the scene. Indiana law allows injured individuals to pursue compensation as long as they are not more than 50% responsible for the crash. Determining fault requires a closer look at evidence such as police reports, witness statements, and accident reconstruction. It’s important not to assume your rights are lost without first understanding how fault is evaluated.

If you’ve been injured in a car accident, learning where you stand early can make a difference. Call Theodoros & Rooth, P.C. for a free consultation about your case with an attorney.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Barry Rooth. He was a cherished partner of Theodoros & Rooth, P.C. and a dedicated professional whose legacy of excellence, integrity, and compassion will continue to inspire us all. Barry established Theodoros & Rooth, P.C. in April 1988 alongside his partner, Perry Theodoros, with a mission to fight for those who needed it most.

Barry brought a wealth of knowledge, skill, and unwavering dedication to the legal profession. He consistently demonstrated an exceptional commitment to serving clients, upholding the highest standards of ethics, and contributing to the growth and success of our firm.

Beyond the office, Barry was a relentless advocate, trusted mentor, a leader, and a true friend to all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

As we mourn the loss of Barry, we are also grateful for the profound impact he made during his time with us. Over the decades, he dedicated his career to advocating for patients, holding wrongdoers accountable, and making the Lake County and surrounding communities a safer place for all. He leaves behind a lasting legacy that will be remembered fondly by both clients and colleagues.

We extend our deepest condolences to Barry’s loving wife and law partner, our own Holly Rooth (Wojcik), his daughters, extended family, friends, and all who were touched by his work and character.

Barry’s passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to justice will forever be part of the Theodoros & Rooth family. His legacy will continue in the work we do every day.

Rest in peace, Barry. Your fight for justice lives on.
