In theory, justice is the pursuit of truth. The balance of perspectives in furtherance of that truth. And the endless defense of that process which seeks to serve truth. Justice will always be imperfect because we are imperfect. We are limited by our minds almost as if we walk around with a blindfold on. Conditioned to see things a certain way and seemingly unable to realize this conditioning. We go about the world with minds that seek to confirm the conditioning. This is the mind’s way of seeking safety in its belief that it is correct. This is known as confirmation bias. Confirmation bias keeps my mind right and all other perspectives wrong. This is the opposite of the pursuit of truth. This is therefore the antithesis of Justice. Open minds seek truth regardless of what that truth is. Even if that truth is a painful admission or painful to accept. Closed minds perceive the pain of truth as something to avoid. Closed minds therefore close off avenues to truth and hence keep themselves in the darkness of their bias rather than in the light of truth.
