Effective August 31, 2026, Petitioners and Joint Sponsors will be subjected to CREDIT CHECK. Mere compliance with the income requirements provided by the Federal Poverty Guidelines for certain number of households is NO LONGER enough. Bad credit history (unpaid credit cards, late mortgage payments, foreclosure and etc are negative factors) may result in the denial of the Petition.

If your Petitioner or Joint Sponsor has credit freeze or security freeze on credit reports, the USCIS may issue an RFE to release such freeze.

Petitioning someone is becoming more and more difficult. It is advisable to consult with a reputable and experienced U.S. Immigration attorney these days.

A handshake may show trust, but a written contract helps define expectations.

The work being provided, payment terms, deadlines, responsibilities, ownership, cancellation rights, and dispute procedures should be clearly documented before money or services change hands.

A legal notice does not become less important when it is placed in a drawer.

Immigration requests, insurance documents, court paperwork, contracts, and other notices may include deadlines or require a response. Waiting too long can limit the available options.

Let Attorney Helps You explain the document in plain language.

Immigration law includes many different processes, and the right path depends on the person’s goals, family relationships, employment, history, and eligibility.

Understanding the available categories can help you ask better questions before submitting an application or petition.

The September 2026 Visa Bulletin is now available.

It provides updated “Final Action Dates” and “Dates for Filing” for family-sponsored and employment-based preference immigrant visas. If you are waiting for your priority date, review the new charts carefully and confirm which chart USCIS requires adjustment-of-status applicants to use for September.

When a US judge last week struck down a Trump administration policy suspending the issuance of immigrant visas to applicants from 75 countries, the Trump administration still found a way to still "pause" the Immigrant Visa Processing by launching a global training initiative at all Embassies and Consulate Offices WORLDWIDE (with no timeline and specific countries affected) "aimed to help consular officers screen out applicants deemed likely to become dependent on US public benefits and to ensure evaluation of visa applicants "comprehensively and consistently".

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump's administration has issued a pause on visa appointments for applicants around the world during an ongoing immigration crackdown by the US government in the Republican leader's second term in the White House.

We got an Approval re Adjustment of Status filed by a 16-year old minor son based on an approved I-130 Petiton initiated by the US Citizen parent.

There was no interview. The adjustment application was approved in less than two (2) months (see attached Approval Notice).

Congratulations to Mr R!

As long as your supporting documents are complete, the USCIS is fair enough to approve your adjustment application in no time despite the controversial May 22, 2026 USCIS Policy Memo.

Note: Do not compare your case with the forgoing if your case is not the same (parent-child petition). Each case is different and adjudicated accordingly by the USCIS not to mention other factors that may have resulted to a much quicker favorable resolution.

Does your contract renew automatically? Can either party cancel? Is advance notice required?

Renewal and termination clauses are easy to overlook until someone wants to end the agreement. Review these terms before signing so you understand how long the contract lasts and what is required to exit it.
