Green card delivered to my client! We sued USCIS in federal court for unreasonable delay. The agency ignored his prior attorney's inquiries for three years, but a few weeks after we filed the mandamus lawsuit, they set an interview. The officer approved his case on the spot. Better late than never!

When the judge says "I was planning to deny your case, but this morning I took another look through your evidence and your lawyer's arguments, and I've decided to grant your permanent residency." And the ICE attorney waives appeal!

A few weeks ago I had the honor of representing the Amicus Committee at the American Immigration Lawyers Association's annual government relations strategy meeting in Orlando, Florida. I just joined the committee last year and have learned from brilliant colleagues as AILA lends our expertise to important lawsuits affecting immigrants' rights around the country. I've also joined AILA's Benefits Litigation Committee, which develops novel strategies to push for the fair and timely adjudication of immigration applications through our federal courts.

Hace unas semanas tuve el honor de representar al Comité Amicus en la reunión anual de estrategia de relaciones gubernamentales de la Asociación Estadounidense de Abogados de Inmigración (AILA, por sus siglas en inglés) en Orlando, Florida. Me uní al comité el año pasado y he aprendido de colegas brillantes mientras AILA presta nuestra experiencia en importantes demandas que afectan los derechos de los inmigrantes en todo el país. También me he unido al Comité de Litigios de Beneficios de AILA, que desarrolla estrategias novedosas para promover la adjudicación justa y oportuna de las solicitudes de inmigración a través de nuestros tribunales federales.

Happy Friday and congratulations to a wonderful client whose green card is finally on the way! Today we're celebrating a big win: we sued USCIS for refusing to process our client's green card application. The immigration agency ignored us, then incorrectly told us we would have to start over and refile the application. Instead, we sued in federal court -- and within a few weeks, USCIS approved the green card!

Hoy estamos celebrando una gran victoria: demandamos a USCIS por negarse a procesar la solicitud de residencia nuestro cliente. La agencia de inmigración nos ignoró y luego nos dijo incorrectamente que tendríamos que empezar de nuevo y volver a presentar la solicitud. A few weeks ago I was honored to meet with colleagues from around the world in Tokyo, Japan and share knowledge with about tricky visa applications at US consulates abroad. I presented at the annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
