What is a Jurat?
What is the purpose of jurat?
A Jurat is a form of notarization that is used to certify that a document is true and correct. It typically involves a person (known as the affiant) signing the document in the presence of a notary public, who then verifies the signer's identity , signs and stamps the document to certify that the affiant has affirmed their oath that the contents of the document is true. A Jurat are often used in legal documents such as affidavits, lender contracts, and court documents.
