In addition to his practice, John has served as a mediator and arbitrator on various matters relating to personal injury, domestic relations and contract law. His mediation skills have been sought by a number of local district courts including Malden and Lawrence District Courts. Previously serving 16 years as a City Councilor in the City of Melrose he was responsible for carrying out the legislative powers of the city, including issuance of licenses, appropriations, appointments to commissions and boards, reviewing zoning matters and constituent services. His experience as Alderman and Councilor gave him access and understanding of the many aspects of legislation which directly affect the practice of law. He applies his knowledge of civic matters to his law practice, including drawing from early experiences as co-founder of Traffic Control Systems (an engineering company specializing in traffic signals and highway construction) and as a manager of residential Real Estate.
