On behalf of JBC Lawyers, we want to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who came to honor John Cameron at yesterday’s wake and today’s funeral.
The love and support shown over these past days has been felt more deeply than words can say. In times of loss, there is a certain grace in seeing people come together, not only in sorrow, but in remembrance. The kindness, prayers, stories, and quiet presence of so many have been a great comfort, and we are profoundly grateful.
When John opened JBC Lawyers in 1992, he built more than a law practice. Over the years, he built relationships, trust, friendships, and a life’s work that reached far beyond the walls of an office. In these last days, we have heard story after story of the ways he impacted the lives of others through his decades as an attorney, through his work in the recovery community, and through the many friendships, adventures, and memories he shared with family, friends, colleagues, and clients alike.
There is something solemn and humbling in hearing a life spoken back in so many voices. It reminds us that the truest measure of a person is often found not in titles or years, but in the lives they leave altered, the burdens they helped carry, and the places where their absence is now most deeply felt.
And John’s absence is deeply felt.
There is a quiet that follows a loss like this, and a space left behind that cannot be filled in the same way again. So many are carrying that sorrow now, and so many are feeling the weight of the hole he leaves behind.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for honoring his life so generously. And thank you for reminding all of us, in these difficult days, just how far one life can reach.
We will remember your kindness, and we will not forget the love that has surrounded JBC Lawyers and the Cameron family in this time of grief.
