In one of the more difficult and stressful weeks in our legal careers, our office took the extraordinary measure to file a Writ of Mandamus in the Supreme Court of Ohio yesterday against a local domestic relations judge who was refusing to rule on requests to continue non-emergency and non-essential final hearings. Late yesterday, the Supreme Court of Ohio temporarily stayed any of our offices hearings with the domestic relations court. Filing this extraordinary writ was not done lightly and our office struggled for the last couple weeks how to respond to our local domestic relations court and domestic relations judge’s refusal to do what EVERY OTHER court in NE Ohio has done which is to put safety ahead of advancing the court’s docket at all costs.

“You’re at the end of a COVID-19 gun,” McArtor told cleveland.com. “It’s settle, or else.”
