Big news for injured workers in Pennsylvania! ⚖️

Schmidt, Kirifides, Rassias & Rio and founding partner Mark R. Schmidt continue to help shape Pennsylvania workers’ compensation law at the highest level.

Our new article explains how Mark’s Pennsylvania Supreme Court victory in Schmidt v. Schmidt, Kirifides & Rassias is still having an impact. In June 2026, the Supreme Court cited the Schmidt decision nine times in 700 Pharmacy, another workers’ compensation case involving medical treatment and pharmacy reimbursement.

The article also covers two recent Supreme Court cases where Mark authored amicus curiae briefs supporting injured-worker positions, including issues involving co-worker immunity and notice of injury.

Why does that matter?

Because these decisions affect what happens when an injured worker needs medical care, when prescriptions are delayed, when checks stop, or when an insurance company tries to limit responsibility after a work injury.

If your Pennsylvania workers’ compensation claim is being denied, delayed, or cut off, do not wait for the insurance company to decide what happens next.

Workers’ Compensation Checks Stopped? Here’s What To Do Next

If your workers’ comp checks suddenly stopped, it does not always mean your case is over. In many situations, the insurance company is trying to reduce or cut off your benefits.

This often happens after:
• An IME exam
• A doctor says you can return to work
• The insurance company files to suspend or modify benefits

The problem is most injured workers are not told what is actually happening or what to do next.

You may still have the right to:
• Continue wage loss benefits
• Challenge the decision
• Keep your medical treatment covered
• Negotiate a settlement

Timing matters. Waiting too long can hurt your case.

If your checks stopped, speak with a Delaware County workers’ compensation lawyer before you assume your benefits are gone.
