DUI Checkpoints in Delco This Weekend

The Delaware County DUI Task Force will be conducting sobriety checkpoints and roving patrols this weekend throughout Haverford, Marple, Newtown, Springfield, and Radnor Townships.

With the price of gas these days, I'm not sure who can afford both gas and alcohol—but just in case, law enforcement agencies will be actively looking for impaired drivers as part of their DUI enforcement initiative.

If you plan on going out this weekend, make sure you plan ahead. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or arrange for a safe ride home. A little planning can prevent serious consequences.

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer — a time for trips to the shore, cookouts, friends, and good times. Those moments should absolutely be enjoyed.

But as we celebrate this weekend, let us not forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. Today we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten. We are forever grateful to those who gave everything for this nation.

When your kids are in high school and they go back to school, it is the most wonderful time of the year. When your kids are in college, it becomes significantly more stressful. Your child is away, and in theory, responsible for themselves. The reality is they still need you. The problem is that they are considered adults (over 18) which means healthcare facilities (hospitals and universities) are not permitted to speak to parents. As parents, we cannot obtain any medical or financial information from these institutions. But you can actually access this information with a Healthcare Power of Attorney and a Financial Power of Attorney.

We are proud to share a recent victory. Our client was facing multiple counts of aggravated assault and simple assault. At the preliminary hearing we were able to expose significant inconsistencies in the complaining witness’s account—revealing that the allegations were fabricated in an effort to create a false case.

As a result, all charges were dismissed.

New Tax Relief for Working Pennsylvanians

Unfortunately it's tax time again, but Pennsylvanians are getting additional tax relief.

The Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit is now law after being signed by Josh Shapiro on November 12 as part of the new state budget.

This refundable credit is designed to help low- and middle-income workers and mirrors the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). If you qualify for the federal EITC, you will also qualify for this new state credit.

Here’s what to know: • The credit equals 10% of your federal EITC amount
• The maximum credit is capped at $805
• Eligibility depends on income, filing status, and number of dependents
• It can be claimed when filing your 2025 tax return

This is meaningful relief for working families across Pennsylvania.
