🚨 Breaking News: Immigration Courts Are Accelerating Hearings Nationwide
According to immigration attorneys and recent reporting from NPR, some U.S. immigration courts are now rapidly moving cases forward by scheduling large “mega master” hearings with more than 100 people at once.
In some jurisdictions, hearings originally scheduled for 2027, 2028, and even 2029 are reportedly being moved to much earlier dates.
⚖️ Attorneys say this shift is creating growing concern — especially for immigrants who:
• Do not have legal representation
• Recently changed addresses
• May miss updated hearing notices
• Are unfamiliar with immigration court procedures
Missing an immigration hearing can have very serious consequences, including a removal order issued by the court.
The reports also raise concerns about overcrowded courtrooms, shorter preparation timelines, and the increasing speed of immigration proceedings in certain parts of the country.
📍According to NPR, courts in cities including Boston, Chelmsford (Massachusetts), Chicago, and Dallas have reportedly begun using these large hearing calendars.
This is an important reminder that immigration court schedules and procedures can change quickly — sometimes with very little notice.
