Crawford Clean Slate and Pardons Initiative – Records Clearing Clinic – Friday,September 4, at 10:00 a.m., Meadville Public Library
One in three Pennsylvanians have old criminal records. Often these records block access to better paying jobs, safe housing, and gun ownership.

If you have a conviction that is more than 5 years old and you would like to explore options for sealing or expungement, we can help.

Eligibility depends on many factors: the person’s prior criminal record, the grading of the
offense(s), and the length of time the person has stayed out of trouble.

Many crimes are now also eligible for automatic sealing based on the time that has passed since the conviction and completion of sentence. People are often surprised to see that their records have sealed without them knowing.

Volunteers are available to work with people to help sort out eligibility and present options about next steps.

The time it takes to get a pardon takes way to long normally its 3-5 yrs and I have heard of people waiting sooo much longer than that there are some that have been waiting for around 10 years .. yes, you ready that correctly 10!! Which is absolutely absurd!

These are people who have done minor crimes and have paid their time to society and have not done anything since,

These are people that have stayed on the straight and narrow working to better their life!

These are people who are trying to get a decent job to support their family.

These are people that want to take their child /children on class field trips and can't because of some dumb decision that they had made when they were younger

If they have paid their dues to society, Why should they have to be pay for the rest of their lives??

Why should they be forced not to join in school activities?

Why should they be forced in working crappy careers when they want to better themselves by going to school or get a better paying career, but they can't because it still shows up on their record.

Why should people have to live in lower-level apartments and houses (or even not even be able to get a place to live) of landlords that don't check for criminal record or can't get a loan for a home, when they could be living in better homes that would suit their families so much better!

I encourage you to sign this letter to the Honorable, Josh Shapirohelp and make a difference in people's lives that have turned their lives around.

EVERYONE should get a second chance!

It takes 3 full years for the Pennsylvania Board of Pardons to process and make its pardon recommendations to the Governor. With that amount of screening, it shouldn't take the Governor so much time to sign them!
