Don’t know what to say. I will miss him greatly. One of the kindest men I have ever met. Always funny and caring. This family is not the same without my stepdad. Love you John Bellmyer.
John R. Bellmyer passed away peacefully with family, holding his wife’s hand, on August 4, 2026.
John was born October 4, 1948 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Navy in 1969 and served until 1973. In 1975 he joined the Wewoka Fire Department until his retirement in 2000. That same year John went to work for the Seminole County Assessor’s Office until he retired in 2017.
John enjoyed music, playing the guitar, and spending time with his wife and his family.
John is predeceased in death by his father, John Thomas Bellmyer; his mother, Lela K. Burgess Goddard; a step father, George Russell Goddard; and a sister, Shirly Conner.
He is survived by his wife, Olivia Gail Bellmyer; a son, Sherman Allen Bellmyer and wife, Janice Bellmyer; step children, Stephen Miller, J. Michael Miller and wife, Angie Miller; Jeffrey Miller and wife, Suzanne Miller. John had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the Sgt. Miles Tarron Foundation, 323 ½ East Carl Albert Parkway, McAlester, Oklahoma, 74501.
