Kids heading off to college soon? It's time for them to put powers of attorney in place. In an effort to protect our employees and our clients, a high percentage of whom fall in the high-risk category for the spread of the coronavirus, we have implemented the following procedures at our offices. We will remain open as long as we believe it's safe to do so, both for our employees and for our clients.

- Clients will be offered the option to meet with our attorneys in person, by telephone, or by video conferencing.

- For those clients who choose to come into the office, we will ask you a few questions to confirm you haven't been exposed to the virus. We'll also be hyper-vigilant in sanitizing everything before and after each client visit.

- Our attorneys and staff all know the symptoms to look for in themselves and their families so we can be sure they won't introduce you to any infection.

Thanks for your patience as we do our part to try to help curb the spread of this virus.

Because of today's storms, which we think was a tornado that struck our building, we are without power and have closed early today. Our phones are down as well but we hope to be able to return calls tomorrow.

Getting ready to send your son or daughter off to college? The last thing you need is one more thing for your to-do list, but this one is huge: your new college student needs a Health Care Power of Attorney. Now that he is over 18, the medical professionals where he's going to school aren't going to involve you in decisions, even in an emergency.
