On July 1st, Kratom will be banned. Friendly reminder: clean out your car. The ban includes possession of items purchased before the ban. I’ve heard of people stockpiling Kratom in anticipation of the ban. This is a bad idea. You would likely be charged per bag and stockpiles often lead to charges of distribution. Clearly this is a joke, but let's talk about what happens when you skip-scan. First off, the self-checkout machines have cameras in addition to the employee that is there. So even if that person seems distracted, the security personnel watch the cameras closely. Second off, if there's any discrepancy, you will be stopped and prosecuted. Make no mistake. They will not accept that it was an innocent mistake. This is why I never use self-checkout when I can avoid it. If you're checking out at a regular register, it would be the employee's fault if they missed something. At a self-checkout, it's all on you.
