Be careful out there. We have a client who was walking out of Home Depot with a bag of top soil over his shoulder yesterday morning. Police stopped him in the parking lot and charged him with $1,000 misdemeanor.

We know that you have a lot of questions about your parenting time. We know that you are wondering what effect Governor Whitmer's newest order has on the commencement of your summer parenting time schedules. At this time, Governor Whitmer's newest order does not dismiss public schools for the remainder of the year, it merely prevents in-person learning for the remainder of the year. Please check back for updates on how, or whether, these changes will impact your parenting time orders.

Schroder Law will remain here to service your legal needs to the best of our abilities during this national emergency. Please remember that some of our magical abilities are impacted by the closing of the courts for the next few weeks.

Our offices will be closed to the public during this time and all meetings will be by appointment only. If you are sick, or unable to meet with us because your children are home from school, we are more than happy to conduct your appointment by telephone. We are fortunate that most of our business can be conducted by telephone and email.

Please let us know how we can help.

Since this has come up several times now, I am going to try to make this clear. The State's extraordinary use of its emergency powers to close schools and businesses has not created "vacations" within the meaning of the county parenting time policies. Your current parenting time orders remain in effect, unless you have some other emergency that would, at any other time, justify the filing of an emergency motion. It would be AMAZING if all parents could work together to put the needs of their children first during this time of uncertainty. ~KS

The Indiana Supreme Court found that the three had "gravely undermined public trust." The fight apparently started when one of the judges raised a middle finger at two men yelling from a passing SUV.
