Dear Clients,

As of April 27, 2026, USCIS started resubmitting fingerprints to a new vetting database. Because of this new requirement, all applicants who were fingerprinted prior to April 27, 2026 will experience delays because their fingerprints/biometric data must be resubmitted to the new database. This applies to applications pending in the US.

When it comes to consular processing, we had 4 immigrant visas approved yesterday in Mumbai, India so immigrant visa applicants abroad are not impacted by the April 27, 2027 new fingerprint resubmission requirement. However, there is still a ban/hold on certain countries so if you are from one of the countries on the ban list, your case will be delayed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

On May 4, 2026, the Court granted our motion to terminate the removal proceedings based on 2 different grounds ( not removable as charged & discretionary termination). Beyond excited for my client & his wife!

Motion granted. Mission accomplished. 🙂

Dear Clients,
On March 30, 2026, USCIS announced that it would lift the "hold" on certain approvals/adjudications of certain applications including but not limited to green cards. This is definitely good news. We already have many interviews scheduled for April and May. This update applies to cases filed in the US and to clients who are to be interviewed in the US. If your interview is supposed to be in a US Embassy abroad, you may still be subject to a ban depending on your country of origin.

Dear Clients,
Due to the shortage of TSA employees, ICE will be helping the TSA at airports starting Monday March 23, 2026. If I have given you the green light to travel, please make sure you bring your green card, US passport, travel doc, work permit, or whatever other document I have told you to bring.
Whether you can travel or not is determined on a case-by-case basis. If you are not sure, please do not take a risk. Schedule a consultation. Also, as a reminder, if you decide to travel to areas close to the border, specifically within 100 miles of the US border, please remember that CBP can ask for your papers without a specific reason.

Even if you do not plan on going to Mexico or Canada, if you travel close to the border and do not have legal status, you can be detained. This means if your green card is pending, you can be detained.

Thank you!

An Immigration Judge granted our motion to terminate the removal proceedings & found that DHS did not meet its burden to prove removability by clear and convincing evidence. Congrats to the client who has been a long term lawful permanent resident.

Important: Matter of Yajure Hurtado was vacated by a Federal District Judge in California. This means people who are detained (and previously entered without inspection) will be able to request bond.

Dear Clients,
Due to a new interpretation of the NJ Trust Directive, a simple traffic violation can land you in federal custody. As a reminder, please drive safely - do not speed, don't use your cell while driving, if you are out enjoying a drink, do NOT drive. Even a traffic violation can affect your immigration case. Thank you for your attention to this important message.
