The Bear of Real Estate - Think Melissa Team I am a proud Army veteran and known as the Bear of Real Estate. My mission statement is to deliver proactive customer service with integrity.

My team and I focus on building relationships, not just one-time transactions. Melissa is a proud Army veteran and known as the Bear of Real Estate. Her team was named #7 Small Sales Team Board of Realtors - 2023. She has 18 years of experience and is here to help you and yours buy or sell Residential and Commercial Real Estate, now or in the future. Like a mama bear, she and her team are very protective of their clients’ interests. Melissa and associates are skilled at avoiding the real estate "bear traps" that can catch buyers and sellers unaware. Her team provides real estate services tailored to their sellers and buyers. Melissa was recognized as a Top Realtor in Georgia by Best Agents.US. She was featured on the cover of Real Producers - Greater Atlanta and the Cover of Top Agent magazine in Georgia. She served in the Persian Gulf during several deployments. After leaving the service, Melissa worked at the Raytheon Corporation as a Quality Assurance Engineer. In her free time, Melissa enjoys volunteering with local Military units/families, writing, shooting, singing karaoke, camping, reading, and spending time with her husband, John, and sons, Jack and Seth.

💪 This is a huge team effort! Please help spread the word!

🥰 Please come and join us at the packing event, where we will assemble the care packages and disseminate them. The packing event will be held on 11/05, from 6:30-8:30 pm. Location: Westport Clubhouse (1536 Halisport Lake Drive, Kennesaw 30152)

✅️ Care package donations needed, please: gum, hard candy (NO JOLLY RANCHERS or anything that will melt), trail mix, granola bars, non-perishable cookies, current magazines, beef jerky, individual powdered drink mixes (Gatorade as an example), dental products, travel-sized wet wipes, small travel games, small footballs, playing cards, books, toiletries (male and female), deodorant (no aerosol), lip balm, sunscreen (lotion only), Sudoku, Crosswords, Brainteasers, etc.

💥 SMALL footballs and travel-size games are REALLY needed and can be found at Five Below, the Dollar Tree, and the Dollar Store.

💌 Individuals, families, and businesses will be needed to mail out the pre-packaged care packages. You will be mailing the packages to our deployed service members. It costs roughly $21.00 to mail one care package. We will provide you cash (if needed) to mail, addresses and custom forms. We only ask that you mail the care package(s) by November 16th. You can take one package or as many as you would like.

Tasty Tuesday: Celebrate National Pasta Day with Authentic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio!

Calling all pasta lovers! October 17 is National Pasta Day, and what better way to celebrate than with a classic Italian dish that’s simple, flavorful, and made with just a handful of ingredients?

For this edition of Tasty Tuesday, we’re featuring Authentic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (Garlic and Oil Sauce) from Savoring Italy.

Aglio e olio literally means “garlic and oil” in Italian, and that’s the heart of this traditional dish. With spaghetti, extra-virgin olive oil, fresh garlic, a little crushed red pepper, and parsley, you can turn basic pantry ingredients into a delicious meal.

🇮🇹 Authentic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Ingredients

1 pound spaghetti
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
Sea salt or kosher salt, to taste
¼ cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
Let’s Get Cooking!
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook, stirring occasionally.

While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil begins to shimmer, reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced garlic.

Cook the garlic for approximately 3–5 minutes, until it becomes a light golden brown. Be careful not to let it burn! Add the crushed red pepper flakes and stir them into the garlic and oil.

Once the garlic is lightly golden, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the parsley and a little salt, reserving some parsley for garnish if you’d like.

Cook the spaghetti until it’s just shy of al dente—about one minute less than the package instructions. Before draining, reserve approximately ½ cup of the starchy pasta water.

Immediately add the drained spaghetti and reserved pasta water to the garlic and olive oil mixture. Toss continuously for 1–2 minutes, allowing the pasta to finish cooking and become beautifully coated in the sauce.

Taste and adjust the salt or crushed red pepper flakes to your preference.

Serve immediately while it’s nice and hot. Buon appetito!

Sometimes Simple Is Best
One of the best things about this recipe is its simplicity. A few quality ingredients come together to create a comforting pasta dish that’s perfect for a busy weeknight, a cozy weekend dinner, or, of course, National Pasta Day!

Add some crusty Italian bread and a fresh salad, and dinner is served.
