There’s something fitting about the Last Word in Haven magazine shining a light on one of Bald Head Island’s quiet treasures.

The Judy S. Agner Memorial Lending Library, perched along the waterfront between the marina dockside and barge landing, is open 24/7/365 and built on a simple promise: Take one. Leave one.

It’s where beach reads are discovered, favorite novels are passed along, and the island’s love of reading lives on. Managed by volunteers from the Bald Head Island Book Club, this little library proves that small gestures can make a big difference in the lives of the community.
