Scam alert!
There is another scam going around and this one hits a little more local. Please if you receive and text, email, or phone call, from an unknown number or source, and it has a link taking you to another site, please do NOT click on the link and especially, do NOT put in ANY of your personal details. Just report the text or email and delete it.
If you are not sure about it, contact the company directly to verify that it is a legitimate encounter.
Below is an example of a current one hitting the Magnolia and Columbia county area.
Remember, when in doubt, just contact the company directly through known contact information, because scammers are spoofing phone numbers to make it look like it is a local number or business.

It’s that time of year again! School is back in session starting Monday for Magnolia Public Schools. Please remember there will be a lot of traffic during drop off and pick up times, so please make time in your schedule so you leave early enough to deal with traffic. For all the first-time parents who take, and pick up your children from school, and a refresher for the current ones, please make sure you observe and obey all the traffic signs, school zone speed limits, and one-way times for specific streets, 20 MPH is the absolute speed limit in school zones when children are present, ZERO TOLERANCE. But, most importantly please make sure you observe the children that are near the streets where traffic is present. Also, if the drop off, pick up lines, back up and extend out into the city streets, specifically at the Middle School on North St., please make efforts as to not block or impede the flow of traffic on those streets.
Remember one way traffic on the following streets is from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pittman St., Hollensworth St., are west bound traffic only for those times.
East McNeil St. is east bound traffic only for those times.
Academy St. is north bound traffic only for those times.
