My client walks out of jail today a free man. All charges dismissed! A two year fight ended! It’s a great day for justice!

Today is a brilliant day! Client charged with Aggravated Assault, Carjacking, Aggravated Robbery, and Employing a Weapon During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony in a very suspect case that frankly should not been indicted at all. Due to these charges, client has experienced homelessness, joblessness, and lack of transportation. Through it all, he has always maintained a polite and congenial attitude and believed in me, my team, and the process. Today his whole case was nolle prosecui in court! Straight up dismissal! Expunging his record right now! Much thanks to my identification expert Dr. Jeffrey Neuschatz and my private investigator Johnnie Lawrence for taking an appointed case and helping procure an amazing result.

And this is why I’m voting for him. Probation officers have no business colluding with ICE.

This week, WSMV News 4, Nashville reported on Metro probation officers sharing Nashville residents' personal information with ICE agents. Today, I'm ordering the Metro Auditor to conduct a full investigation of the department involved and these deeply troubling reports.

As the mayor of Nashville, my highest duty is to protect and serve our city's residents, whatever their immigration status. Any collaboration between Metro authorities and ICE represents a betrayal of the values of our community — and it must stop immediately.
