LIFT Dane is a joint venture created by several local non-profit organizations to help increase economic prosperity and social justice for Dane County residents by removing legal barriers.
Legal Tune Up App – LIFT Dane is creating an innovative tool to help people get a legal health check-up. The innovative technology of the new Legal Tune Up will allow people to check on their civil legal problems right from a smartphone or computer.
Launching soon, the first two modules within the Legal Tune Up app will be the removal of eligible criminal records and the removal of previously dismissed eviction records from the State of Wisconsin’s online files – the Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP).
As a unique social justice organization, LIFT Dane continues to operate despite COVID-19, and is currently scheduling private video or phone conferences for people to receive free legal advice from an attorney regarding driver’s license reinstatement or other suspension issues.
Other forthcoming services will include help with employment and training, child support issues, and healthcare debt problems.
Capitalizing on over 100 years of combined experience of our partner organizations, LIFT Dane is a collaboration between the Economic Justice Institute, Inc., Legal Action of Wisconsin, the University of Wisconsin Law School’s civil legal clinics, the Center for Patient Partnerships, and the Employment and Training Association (EATA) of Dane County.
