We are pleased to announce Kaila Harmier of Tonasket, Washington has been awarded the 2020 Martin W. Hodges Legal Scholarship. Ms. Harmier has earned a 3.70 GPA at Wenatchee Valley College in Omak and is working towards her Nursing Degree.
Kaila and her husband are raising three young daughters while she attends college. Kaila's husband, Officer C.J. Harmier, recently graduated from the Police Academy in Spokane and is serving as a Police Officer in their community. Kaila proudly states:
"Watching my husband's dedication throughout his process of becoming an Officer is what encouraged me to re-enroll in college to finish my Nursing Degree. One of the main reasons that I am drawn to Nursing is the same reason my husband is drawn to Law Enforcement - we both want to help people. I want to be there when someone really needs me and I want to make a difference in our community."
We thank Officer Harmier for his public service as a Police Officer and First Responder. We further commend Kaila and C.J. for being positive role models to their children, and for their determination to make a difference in their local community.
Congratulations Kaila! We know you will make a positive impact in this world!
