We are excited to announce two well-earned promotions here at Family Estate Planning Law Group.

Alicia has been promoted to Senior Paralegal
Cam has been promoted to Paralegal

At FEPLG, we believe that the families we serve are best supported by a team that is growing, learning, and being recognized for their contributions.

Cam and Alicia exemplify that every day.

These promotions reflect not just their individual growth, but our firm's commitment to building a team where excellence is celebrated and people are empowered to lead.

Please join us in congratulating them both.

We are proud to have them on the FEPLG team.

The families who leave the clearest legacies are not always the ones with the most complex plans.

They are the most intentional.

In our work with families, we have seen that the quality of a plan has far more to do with the conversations behind it than the assets within it. Families who talk openly about their wishes, their values, and their hopes for the next generation create something that cannot be measured in dollars.

That is what we work toward together.

What does intentional planning look like in your family? Share below.

Thinking about tapping into your home equity this spring?

If your home is titled in a trust, there are a few things worth knowing before you apply for a HELOC.

Spring and summer tend to be the busiest seasons for home equity borrowing. And while a HELOC can be a smart tool, the process gets a little more involved when your home is held in trust.

We often hear from clients after everything is already scheduled. But the earlier we know, the smoother the process goes. A quick call to our team before you apply can save real time and prevent headaches at closing.

Having a trust does not automatically mean you avoid probate. Here is why.

This surprises a lot of families. You can have a beautifully drafted trust and still end up in probate if your assets are not properly titled in the name of that trust.

A trust is only as effective as the funding behind it. Real estate, bank accounts, investment accounts, they all need to be properly aligned with your plan. That is a step many families miss, and many firms do not follow up on.

We do.

Did your attorney explain trust funding when you created your plan? We want to hear your experience.

Here is what a Tuesday afternoon at FEPLG actually looks like.

Files reviewed.
Follow-up calls made.
Questions answered before clients even know to ask them.

We talk a lot about relationship-based planning, but the truth is it shows up in the small things. A team that checks in without being prompted. Attorneys who remember details that matter. A process that does not leave families guessing.

This is our Tuesday. This is how we show up.

What does your Tuesday look like? Tell us in the comments.

Last night we had the privilege of attending the Sweet Soul Evening, Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House's annual fundraising gala, and we are still riding the high. 🖤✨

An incredible night of soulful music, dancing, inspiring speakers, and community awards, all in support of an organization that has been a cornerstone of service in Cambridge for over 124 years.

Proud of our own Vinnie Bonazzoli (Board President at MFNH) and Alicia Ridgley for their powerful speeches, and a huge congratulations to Vinnie and Samantha Caezza for their work as board members bringing fresh energy to MFNH. Stay tuned, we will be sharing more about last night soon!

Something we believe pretty deeply around here: the culture inside a law firm says a lot about the care clients receive outside of it.

Every week before we look at a single file, we check in with each other. Every meeting starts with a segue, a moment where each person on the team shares a personal win and a professional win from the week before.

The families who trust us with their estate planning are sharing some of the most important decisions of their lives. They deserve a team that is aligned, supported, and genuinely invested in getting it right.

Celebrating wins inside and outside of the office is not a nice to have around here. It is part of how we take care of each other so we can take care of you.

We talk a lot about taking care of families. This Mother's Day we want to take a moment to celebrate the moms on our own team who make that possible every single day.

Diana keeps every number, every detail, and every deadline in order. Behind the scenes, steady and dependable, she holds everything together here and at home. We are grateful for her every single day.

Sam spends her days helping families honor their wishes and care for the ones they love most. Whether she is mom-ing at home or on vacation, she brings that same heart to everything she does.

Jen is the reason our message reaches the families who need it most. She brings the same thoughtfulness to growing this firm that she brings to raising her son. Intentional, creative, and always showing up.

We are so proud to have these three on our team. Happy Mother's Day to them and to every mom in our community doing the same kind of quiet, steady, remarkable work.

Most families have a great accountant, a trusted financial advisor, and an estate planning attorney. What they often do not have is a team that works together.

When each advisor only sees their slice of the picture, small gaps go unnoticed. A beneficiary designation that needs updating. An asset acquired last year that nobody flagged. A trust structure your accountant never knew existed.

That is not a failure of your advisors. It is just what happens when good people work independently.

AdvisorConnect is how we help change that. Not a formal summit, not a complicated process. Just a simple structure that makes the right conversations easier to have, with the right people, at the right time.

If this resonates, we would love to connect. Link in first comment.

Spring cleaning does not stop at your closet. When did you last refresh your estate plan?

Most families spend April clearing out garages and guest rooms. Very few think to open the drawer where their estate planning documents live.

But spring is actually one of the best times to take a look. Tax season just wrapped. Summer transitions are coming. Kids are finishing school. Life is moving.

Three things worth checking before summer starts: who is named in your plan, whether your assets are still aligned, and whether your documents still reflect your family as it is today.

If you are not sure where to start, that is exactly what we are here for.

What is one thing on your spring checklist you keep pushing to next month? Tell us in the comments.
