We’re proud to share a recent episode of More Than A Lawyer, featuring Imler Law founder Jason Imler in conversation with Christy Crow.

The discussion covers several issues that are especially important for Florida employees, including what “at-will employment” really means, how discrimination claims proceed through the EEOC, and how attorneys evaluate whether an employer’s stated reason for termination may actually be a pretext for discrimination or retaliation.

Jason also discusses how workplace injuries can sometimes create overlapping legal issues involving workers’ compensation, disability accommodations, retaliation, and other potential claims.

Beyond employment law, the conversation explores the importance of professional involvement, community service, and using the practice of law as an opportunity to make a broader impact.

If you are an employee with questions about discrimination, retaliation, disability accommodations, or your rights in the workplace, this episode provides a helpful look at how these cases are evaluated and pursued.

It was a pleasure spending the weekend with fellow members of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Board of Directors at our annual Board Retreat.

One of the things I value most about the legal profession is the opportunity to collaborate with attorneys and judges who are committed to strengthening our local legal community. While we may practice in different areas of law—and sometimes even find ourselves on opposite sides of a case—we all share a responsibility to uphold the integrity of our profession and improve access to justice.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such dedicated leaders as we plan for the coming year and continue working to make the HCBA an even stronger resource for attorneys, judges, and the public we serve.

Looking forward to another great year of service to the legal community and continuing to advocate for employees throughout the Tampa Bay area.

If you’ve ever wondered what your rights are after being fired, retaliated against, denied a reasonable accommodation, or treated unfairly at work, this interview is for you.

Attorney Jason Imler recently joined Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend to discuss:
✔️ Workplace discrimination
✔️ Retaliation for reporting misconduct
✔️ Disability and FMLA rights
✔️ Unpaid wages and overtime
✔️ What employees should (and shouldn’t) do before leaving a job

At Imler Law, we represent employees—and only employees. Our mission is to help workers understand their rights and hold employers accountable when the law is violated.

Watch the interview, and if you know someone who may be facing an employment issue, please share this video. It could help them protect their rights before it’s too late.

Honored to be in New Orleans this morning representing Florida’s plaintiff-side employment lawyers as President of FLANELA at the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) 2026 Affiliate Leadership Workshop & Forum.

I had the opportunity to speak on strategies for growing and engaging membership, building strong affiliate organizations, and fostering collaboration between state affiliates and the national NELA community. These conversations are critical to ensuring that employment lawyers across the country remain connected, supported, and equipped to advocate for workers’ rights.

I am grateful for the chance to share ideas with leaders from NELA affiliates nationwide and to learn from the many talented attorneys dedicated to advancing workplace justice.

Thank you to NELA for organizing this outstanding program and to my fellow affiliate leaders for their commitment to strengthening our profession and protecting employees’ rights.

Today I had the privilege of presenting “A Practical Overview of Common Labor & Employment Law Issues” at the North Tampa Bar Association CLE Luncheon at Carrollwood Country Club.

Thank you to the North Tampa Bar Association for the invitation and to everyone who attended and participated in the discussion. We covered a variety of common workplace issues facing employers and employees, including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour compliance, leave laws, accommodations, and practical considerations for navigating employment disputes.

I always enjoy the opportunity to share knowledge with fellow professionals and contribute to continuing legal education within our community.

A special thank you to the attorneys, law students, and guests who took the time to attend. I appreciate the thoughtful questions and engaging discussion.
