Today, we find ourselves doing one of the hardest things we’ve had to do as a firm—saying farewell to someone who has been so much more than an employee. For 18 years, Kelsey has been the steady heartbeat of our office. As our Office Manager, she kept everything running smoothly, but it was her kindness, compassion, and open heart that truly made this place feel like home.
We deemed Kelsey the Lucy Van Pelt (without the football) of S&G. She would hang out her hypothetical shingle, never collecting the $.05, but she listened when we needed to talk. She offered comfort when times were tough. She celebrated our joys and helped us navigate our challenges. She cared—deeply, sincerely, and without hesitation. And that kind of presence is something you simply cannot replace.
While our hearts are heavy as she leaves, they are also filled with admiration. Kelsey is moving down South to care for her elderly parents, including her mother who is living with Alzheimer’s—a profoundly selfless act that mirrors the generosity she has shown us every single day.
Her departure leaves a space that won’t easily be filled, but the love, warmth, and humanity she brought to our firm will continue to guide us.
Please join us in sending her all our love, gratitude, and strength as she begins this next chapter. She will forever remain part of our family, and we are better—both as a firm and as people—for having had her by our side for all these years. 💛
Thank you, Kelsey. We will miss you more than words can say.
