⚠️ IMPORTANT VEHICLE SAFETY ALERT — GM Owners, Check Your VIN Now
General Motors has issued an urgent "Do Not Drive" recall affecting certain 2026 Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs, as well as some 2015–2020 models that received replacement transfer cases at a dealership.
Affected vehicles include:
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 • Chevrolet Tahoe • Chevrolet Suburban • GMC Sierra 1500 • GMC Yukon • GMC Yukon XL • Cadillac Escalade • Cadillac Escalade ESV
The problem: A manufacturing error left some transfer cases missing an internal oil pickup tube. Without it, bearings can fail — causing the front or rear wheels to lock up without warning while driving. You may hear a grinding noise before it happens, but there may be no warning at all.
This affects only 4WD and AWD models. Two-wheel-drive versions are not included.
✅ What to do right now:

Go to NHTSA.gov and enter your VIN (NHTSA Campaign )
If your vehicle is flagged, do not drive it
Call your dealership to arrange a free tow and free transfer case inspection/replacement

Owner notification letters won't be mailed until June 22, 2026 — don't wait. Check your VIN today and share this post so your friends and family with these vehicles can check theirs.

Analia was #3 on the Diboll Lumberjacks volleyball team and will begin her college career at Angelina College in Lufkin before transferring to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches.
