Julie I. Fershtman is a Shareholder with Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC, a full-service law firm with offices around the state. A lawyer for 36 years, her law practice crosses all equine breeds and disciplines, and she handles a wide variety of equine industry matters. She also drafts contracts to help her clients avoid disputes. Her expertise also includes business litigation, fraud litigation, and insurance law.
Working hard for her clients, she has achieved numerous courtroom victories in trial and appellate courts. She helped Michigan pass its Equine Activity Liability Act as well as the lawโs 2015 amendment.

She is the owner of North Pointe Legal, PLLC in Ludington, Michigan where she focuses her practice exclusively on equine law, criminal defense, child abuse and neglect, and family law. Tracie is committed to helping people achieve justice in a system that is far too often unfair. A large part of her practice involves helping children, either by working to keep them with their families or advocating for their rights in the juvenile justice system.
Tracie is also an avid horse girl from a very young age. As a result, her equine industry knowledge, coupled with her experience in insurance defense, provides her the ability to represent clients from all aspects of the spectrum.
