On August 19, 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5847 declaring August 21st as National Senior Citizens Day. National Senior Citizens Day is a time to celebrate the wisdom, resilience, and countless contributions of older adults who have shaped our families and communities. It is also an opportunity to recognize the importance of protecting their independence, dignity, and quality of life through thoughtful planning and informed decision-making.
