This week and next week are big weeks for many with immigration trouble.
On good authority, this week there will be training for USCIS workers on the Biden program announce on June 17. By the end of the next week, we should have a good idea of how big an impact the program will have in a couple of ways:
First, qualification could be quite narrow – just those who never had government contact, were here 10 years and are married to US Citizens – or it could be tweaked to include many many more.
Second, USCIS initially has estimated the number qualified as about 550,000. They may be way wrong. Remember, the qualified (in the narrow version) are folks that have had NO CONTACT with the government – makes you wonder how they got a count. The workload is likely to have an impact.
Once there is something to report, I will try and keep you informed.

September 2024 Visa Bulletin is out and sadly there is no movement in any Family Category. This is the last VB this fiscal year, there will be new numbers to draw from in the October bulletin.

The whole office is going to an Immigration Class all day from Tuesday, July 23, 2024, to Wednesday, July 24, 2024. We will be back on Thursday, July 25, 2024. We will limit coverage and try to return phone calls on Thursday.
