This Memorial Day, the Rampart Helicopter Services crew pauses to remember and honor the heroes—including the Vietnam crews and soldiers—who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their legacy lives on in the skies we fly today.

Human External Cargo (HEC) operations demand absolute precision, seamless communication, and uncompromised safety. Rampart Helicopter Services recently completed HEC training for a client. This specialized training serves as a critical preparatory milestone ahead of helicopter-supported power line construction and maintenance projects.

Rampart Helicopter Services was proud to return as a supporter of the annual Ropin’ Rascals charity event, providing attendees with a hands-on, up-close look at our Huey helicopter. Ropin’ Rascals is dedicated to giving special needs children and adults the opportunity to experience being a cowboy or cowgirl for a day through various activities such as therapeutic horseback riding, roping lessons, a petting zoo, and tractor rides. Our team loved having the chance to help create accessible, joyful experiences for these incredible individuals. Huge thanks to everyone who made this inspiring day possible!

Rampart Helicopter Services is proud to announce the appointment of Steve Metheny as our new Chief Pilot. After serving as a contract pilot with us since June 2025, Steve has now transitioned into this full-time leadership role. He brings an elite level of expertise to our operations, backed by a distinguished 33-year career.

Steve’s journey in aviation began with the US Army in 1989, followed by a transition to the civilian sector in 1993. The industry veteran has piloted over a dozen different helicopters, specializing in high-stakes missions ranging from EMS and firefighting to heavy-lift construction and powerline installation. Notably, Steve has accumulated over 14,000 accident and incident free flight hours with over 4000 in the UH-1 Huey.

We are thrilled to have Steve’s veteran leadership and safety-first mindset at the helm of our flight operations. Please join us in welcoming him to his new role!
