Almost 15 years ago, a chance encounter at a Rotary Club meeting sparked a transformational idea. Sitting next to Dr. Tony Newberry, plans for Jefferson Community & Technical College to acquire The Hotel at 1st & W Broadway had hit a roadblock. Wayside Christian Mission had worked out a deal with Gus Goldsnith and ended up with the site. The proposal to spend millions on the site faced hurdles.

I suggested an alternative - to secure parcels along S. 1st St for a fraction of the Hotel site's cost. This led to a strategic collaboration as we mapped out a new vision. Notably, the Advanced Manufacturing Building at 756 S First St, a parcel that I owned with Austin Musselman, emerged from this innovative approach.

Fast forward to today, the fruition of that vision is evident. Kentucky Community & Technical College System and Mayor Craig Greenberg revealed plans to actualize the dream of building the garage envisioned 15 years ago. A testament to foresight and strategic decision-making.

I wanted to share with you that I will be undergoing a kidney transplant at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington later today.

My sister, Raleigh, is donating a kidney so that I can receive a living donor kidney, and I am incredibly grateful to her. She is my hero.

The procedure will take approximately 3 to 4 hours, and I will be staying in Lexington to recuperate until Saturday. After that, I will be at home for six weeks to allow my immune system to recover.

During this time, I will be available by phone, text, and Zoom, but will not be able to have physical meetings. If you need me, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Since I have outstanding colleagues and staff, we aren’t missing a beat at Gant Hill & Associates and, like always, are open for business.

These days, the concept of "standard" seems to be a hot topic, especially in the world of real estate. However, according to some, this idea of a standard is being perpetuated by journalists and others, and may actually be a violation of the Sherman Antitrust Act. As someone who deals with transaction rates on a deal-by-deal basis, one size doesn’t fit all. Let's keep things fair and reasonable.

Are mass tort lawsuits just a scheme to make lawyers rich? As a seasoned real estate professional with over 30 years of experience, what is the validity of these lawsuits? Has anyone been hurt by paying a commission to a real estate agent for their services.

However, it's important to consider that mass tort lawsuits are often filed on behalf of individuals who have been injured or harmed by a product or service. These lawsuits hold companies accountable for their actions and can result in changes that benefit consumers.

As for the concern about which industry will be targeted next, it's difficult to predict. But it's important to remember that lawsuits are only filed when there is evidence of harm or wrongdoing. Could it be 20% paid to restaurant servers or 33% to these attorneys?

No one is safe.

Facebook has not responded to my many requests for the change back to Gant Hill & Associates.

It’s unfortunate that it is so easy to corrupt an innocent business page, but extremely difficult to recover and repair it.
