Attention Small Business Owners!
The Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2020 (AMLA) created a law called the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA). This law says that the Financial Crimes Division of the U.S. Treasury FinCEN must keep a national list of the real owners of certain small business companies, that are corporations, LLCs and similar state registered business types. The information collected will be kept in a private database. Almost businesses of this type must comply before the deadline. Those failing to do so will face serious penalties.
