Please join Region VII of the National Bar Association, the Illinois Judicial Council, and Rainbow PUSH in supporting our high school juniors and seniors as they compete in the 2023 MLK Competition. The competition will be held via Zoom. The first place winner will receive a $1000 prize and a chance to compete at the national competition in Minneapolis.

Region VII has the distinction of having amongst its membership the first woman to lead a national bar organization, ever. Judge Arnette Hubbard (Ret.) was elected as fhe first woman president of the NBA. While president of NBA, Judge Hubbard began the annual Gertrude Rush Awards Gala to honor the first woman to practice law in the US. On Friday, April 28, 2023 Judge Hubbard attended the 2023 Gertrude Rush that she began during her presidency in Louisville to commemorate the occasion.
