IALA is incredibly proud to congratulate Board Member and Past First Vice President Vito A. Costanzo on his nomination to the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA). ⚖️

Vito is a talented litigator in the Los Angeles office of Holland & Knight, with experience in complex litigation including trade secrets, contract disputes, and trust and estate matters. He previously served as a trial attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and has extensive courtroom experience in both state and federal courts.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vito has been a valued member of the IALA family and a dedicated leader within our organization. We are proud to see his leadership recognized and know he will serve the LACBA Board of Trustees with distinction.

Still reflecting on what a special evening last week was at the Italian American Lawyers Association Installation Gala at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. ✨⚖️

It was wonderful to celebrate alongside so many members of the judiciary, fellow bar leaders, colleagues, and friends from across our legal community. Thank you to the judges, bar organizations, sponsors, and members who came out to support IALA and the work we do together.

Celebrating this event during Women’s History Month made it even more meaningful. It was a reminder of the women who paved the way in the legal profession and IALA’s strong past women presidents, and the responsibility we carry to continue advancing opportunities for women in law and leadership.

As one of the founding bar organizations of the LA County Unity Bar (LACUB), IALA remains deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Together, we continue the important work of upholding the rule of law, protecting the Constitution, and advocating for a judiciary and legal profession that reflect the diverse communities we serve.

✨ Celebrating Our Sister Bar, JABA ✨

The IALA was honored to attend and celebrate the 49th Annual Installation Gala of the Japanese American Bar Association — a beautiful evening recognizing leadership, legacy, and community.

Congratulations to JABA President Gary Tokumori and the newly installed 2026 Board on a truly outstanding event and the beginning of what promises to be a remarkable year ahead.

A highlight of the evening was witnessing Justice Sonia Sotomayor administer the oath of office to the 2026 Board. Her keynote address was powerful, inspiring, entertaining and a meaningful reminder of the responsibility we carry as members of the legal profession. We also congratulate her on receiving the well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award.

As sister bar organizations, IALA is proud to stand alongside JABA in advancing diversity, mentorship, and excellence in the law. When we support one another, we strengthen not only our individual communities, but the profession as a whole.
