Jill Rosenthal graduated summa cm laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley before obtaining her law degree from Georgetown University. Rosenthal practiced law for 20 years – first as a corporate litigator in two prestigious law firms, and then as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs and Human Resources for The Sports Club Company, owner and operator of
a national chain of luxury health and fitness clubs branded as The Sports Club/LA. Rosenthal oversaw all matters relating to a workforce of over 2,000 employees including hiring, training and disciplinary action, compliance, benefits and investigations into workplace complaints such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, accommodation of disabilities and employee misconduct. She represented the company in all hearings before the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and worked closely with outside counsel on all civil litigation matters involving the company. Although she continues to offer legal services to a number of private clients, Ms. Rosenthal now concentrates primarily on independent workplace investigations. She is uniquely suited for this work, having developed the necessary skills during her years as a litigator and, before that, an investigative reporter. Rosenthal is recognized for her ability to obtain necessary information from even the most difficult witnesses, be they corporate executives or factory workers. In addition to her investigative work, Ms. Rosenthal offers training and coaching seminars for human resource professional, managers and even executives on a variety of employment related subjects. She also regularly consults with clients to help them develop and implement strategies for minimizing the risk and/or cost of litigation. In cases where litigation is unavoidable, Ms. Rosenthal is available to interview and assess credibility of witnesses, identify and locate key evidence and prepare factual analysis for law and motion work. Rosenthal is a gourmet chef, published poet, Board Member of a well-regarded teen literacy program called “Get Lit” and doting mother.
