HOW MUCH CAR INSURNACE DO YOU NEED?

There are many different types of insurance coverage to choose from, depending on what want covered and what you can afford.

WHERE SHOULD I GET STARTED?

An auto insurance policy can include several different kinds of coverage. Your independent insurance agent will provide professional advice on the type and amount of car insurance coverage you should have to meet your individual needs and comply with the laws of your state. Here are the principal kinds of coverage that your policy may include:

• Liability coverage – These policies help cover liability and expenses when you’re at fault in and accident. The money will go to the people you hit, but it won’t cover the people in your car.

• Collision – This policy covers repairs to your car after an accident.

• Comprehensive – This policy covers costs if your car is stolen or damaged outside of an accident.

• Property Damage Liability – This policy pays for damage done to the other car if you’re at fault in an accident.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage – This helps cover costs if you are hit by someone without insurance or minimal coverage.

o If you are involved in an accident and the other driver does not have insurance or does not have sufficient insurance this coverage will cover your loss.

o Example: A person hits you and only has a $15,000 policy. Assume you have substantial injuries. If you have this coverage for $100,000, this will allow you to recover $85,000 from your own carrier, and your rates will not increase.

Medical Payments Coverage – Covers the cost of medical care for you and your passengers in the event of an accident. This will ensure that your medical bills are paid, and not left to when your case settles. There are 3 different types of medial payments coverage in California.
