In 2007, REACH LA created Ovahness Young Men’s Leadership Team to give youth a means to educate others about the realities faced by LGBTQ youth of color by countering stereotypes and by telling the truth about who they. The program provides leadership opportunities for youth of color to share their views and concerns with policymakers, advocates and their own peers. REACH LA’s Ovahness Young Men’s
Leadership Team provides opportunities to create youth led and developed, media projects, presentations and events that bring an awareness and social consciousness to issues such as HIV/AIDS, social justice, and LGBTQ issues. The Ovahness Leadership Team represent REACH LA at events, conferences and youth gatherings where they work in collaboration with other agencies & programs to build a network of resources that are invaluable to success and self-sufficiency. By learning, working and supporting each other, the Ovahness Young Men’s Leadership Team strives to build a new community of gay, bisexual, same ‚ gender loving and transgender leadership for the future. The Ovahness Leadership team meets every Wednesday evening from 7pm-9pm. Please contact Greg Wilson, 213-622-1650 x108 or [email protected] for more information.
