Scott Peterson who was sentenced to death for the murders of his wife and unborn child was resentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole last week after the California Supreme Court ruled that perspective jurors had not been screened for biases against the death penalty. He has a hearing scheduled in February 2022 where a judge will decide if he should receive a new trial because his defense attorney claims that a juror gave false answers on the jury questionnaire so that the juror would be selected as a juror in Peterson’s trial.
