Do you honestly believe Uber has poured at least $77 million into its campaign to amend California's constitution to limit how much attorneys and doctors get paid because Uber cares about you?
Guess again. Uber is trying to rewrite California law to insulate itself from accountability.
With Prop 22, Uber made its drivers independent contractors instead of employees. That made them ineligible for benefits like health insurance and overtime.
Now it seeks to insulate itself from legal accountability altogether.
Accident attorneys invest their own funds and work for free until cases settle. Their fee is their war chest against corporate giants like Uber.
If this measure passes, lawyers will be financially unable to battle Uber for crash victims. This, at a time when larger and more dangerous Uber vehicles driven by untrained commercial drivers are increasing as a share of traffic.
DON'T fall for it, and vote NO on the Protecting Automobile Accident Victims from Attorney Self-Dealing Act in November!
The rideshare giant’s ballot proposition could upend the legal industry. Critics call it an “inhumane” attempt at corporate greed.
