Things I would tell you if I were your discrimination lawyer and I weren’t afraid to hurt your feelings:

-Trust your instincts
-Pay attention to patterns
-Document what is happening

And if you believe you are being treated differently because of a protected characteristic, put your complaint in writing.

Being told to use the bathroom sink for drinking water at work may seem like a small issue, but in California, access to clean drinking water is a workplace safety matter.

Employers are generally required to provide safe, fresh, and accessible drinking water during the workday and bathroom sinks are not supposed to be the primary source of drinking water for employees.

Workers also should not have to pay for basic water access just because an employer has not provided proper water facilities.
