A recent Business Insider article caught my attention—not because it was about a "bad agent," but because it highlighted something every buyer should remember: *** Read what you sign *** Buyer Representation Agreements have become much more common after the 2024 industry changes, but every state and brokerage can have different rules and contract terms.
Before signing, understand:
• How long the agreement lasts
• Whether it can be canceled
• How compensation works
• What your obligations are
A good real estate agent shouldn't be afraid of these questions—they should encourage them.
If you're buying in California and aren't sure what a Buyer Representation Agreement means, I'm always happy to explain it before you sign anything.
