Black history is not only about the historical men and women who achieved greatness but also about the future and laying the ground work to create a historical figure. That’s how I am raising my son- to know who he is and love the skin he is. He will one day be a strong man and create his own legacy as black history. Good job today son! I am so thankful for the awesome job you did today in your first school program!

On this Labor Day I celebrate the labor of that has been selected into the for a screening of a documentary about black business women featuring a clip of yours truly. When my friend first said she wanted to do a documentary on black women in business that features are triumphs and our struggles I was all in! Why? Because we do cry different and the world should understand that. From the micro aggressions to negative self talk to the brilliance of blackness our stories are complicated and must be told. I am proud to be a part of this project and thankful to be in a space with so many other black business women.

Settlement Alert!

After nearly two years of litigation against a large conglomerate of hospitals I secured a 1.25 million dollar settlement for my client based on her emotional distress since she quit after job being sexually harassed by her supervisor and secured a different job with higher pay.

About 60 days before mediation, the Defendant sent a low ball 6 figure 998 offer to compromise and due to the length of time my client wanted to take it.

She was exhausted and I understood. But I told her to just trust me and let me lead her through this process and she did. In mediation we were able to secure a settlement that was nearly 10 times more than their last offer.

The client can now fully move on with her life and start a family and she is thankful that she trusted me.
