JOB DESCRIPTION
This fast-paced civil litigation defense firm is seeking an enthusiastic 3-6 year litigation associate to join a close-knit team of attorneys involved in defending school districts, municipalities, and corporate clients. Interest in employment law and/or personal injury matters a plus.
Responsibilities and Duties
The appropriate candidate will work on a team in assisting the firm's employment and wide-ranging personal injury defense practices, and should be able to personally manage every aspect of assigned cases from the pre-litigation phase, through discovery and depositions, dispositive motions, and trial preparation. We are looking for a lawyer who is creative, passionate, and self-driven. Candidates should be interested in being involved in an active litigation practice and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities. This position offers self-motivated and efficient attorneys significant litigation experience.
The position affords attorneys the opportunity to attend court hearings and take/defend depositions. However, the ideal candidates will have significant experience writing various motions, briefs, summaries, and evaluations. The appropriate candidate will respond to discovery, and draft motions to compel, motions for summary judgment, and motions in limine. The position also offers the opportunity to second-chair at trial with a partner.
