Florida’s roadside farm stands may soon have new opportunities to increase visibility.

HB 901 would allow qualifying roadside stands to join the Fresh from Florida signage program and could even earn “state tourist attraction” status.

But qualifying is not automatic.

To participate, a farm stand must produce its products on-site, meet strict operational schedules, offer public tours, and maintain proper signage.

Wineries and distilleries that do not grow on-site are excluded.

At Groves Law, we guide Florida agribusinesses through zoning and land use rules so they can plan, grow, and participate in evolving programs like these.

The Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act provides important protections for seasonal and migrant farm workers.

This law focuses on fair treatment, safe transportation, and accurate wage reporting for these workers.

Farm owners must carefully manage contracts, working conditions, and wage details to meet these legal standards.

It is not just about paperwork; it is about safeguarding the rights of the people who keep farms running.

Noncompliance with these rules can bring serious consequences.

At Groves Law, we work with Florida farmers to follow the proper procedures and build fair employment systems.

If you want to sell CBD (cannabidiol) food in Florida, you must obtain a special permit.

The Florida Department of Agriculture requires a H**p Food Establishment Permit for businesses that sell ingestible CBD products.

This permit costs $650. Once you have the permit, you must also meet sanitation, construction, and wastewater standards just like other food businesses.

Selling something as simple as a CBD gummy bear means you will need to meet the same rules as traditional food vendors.

Florida classifies hemp-derived CBD as food, which places your business under additional inspections and labelling requirements.

At Groves Law, we work with CBD retailers to understand the rules that apply to food-based CBD sales in Florida.

Thinking about selling your baked goods or homemade treats in Florida?

Florida’s cottage food laws allow direct-to-consumer sales without a food permit for certain products like bread, cookies, pasta, popcorn, and jams.

But there are clear rules about where you can sell, how you label your products, and how much you can earn.

Cottage food businesses must follow state and local requirements, including labeling, sales limits, and packaging rules.

At Groves Law, we guide Florida businesses through zoning, food sales, and code compliance so they can grow with confidence.

Whether you sell at farmers’ markets or ship online, the right planning makes all the difference.

Farm workers play a vital role in Florida agriculture.

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) is the key federal law that protects these workers.

It sets the standards for minimum wage, overtime pay, and child labor.

Farm owners must follow FLSA requirements to provide fair compensation and working conditions.

These protections apply to many agricultural operations, including farms that hire seasonal or part-time workers.

Missing these standards can lead to serious fines and operational setbacks.

Understanding wage rules is essential for staying compliant and avoiding disputes.

At Groves Law, we guide Florida farmers in applying labor rules and managing wage-related requirements.

Florida’s classification of hemp-derived CBD as food sets it apart from federal standards.

This unique position allows businesses to sell CBD-infused products alongside traditional foods, but it also brings additional responsibilities.

The Florida Department of Agriculture Consumer Protection Services requires sellers to meet food safety standards and obtain a H**p Food Establishment Permit.

CBD vendors must follow sanitation, wastewater, and construction rules, just like other food establishments.

They must also source CBD from approved manufacturers and follow strict labeling requirements.

Staying aware of Florida’s evolving regulations is essential to keeping your CBD venture compliant.

At Groves Law, we work with Florida businesses to navigate these unique CBD classifications and food safety requirements.
